Two new distributors added to national system
TOWES recently signed up two more distributors, ensuring TOWES tests are available all across Canada.
With both Collège Lionel-Groulx in Quebec and the Workplace Education Manitoba Steering Committee (WEMSC) in Manitoba coming on board, we are very close to achieving our goal of making TOWES available in every province and territory. The only territory not having an authorized TOWES distributor is Nunavut.
Our new distributors are equally as pleased. Alan Girard, the contact for Collège Lionel-Groulx, said TOWES provides a great opportunity for Lionel-Groulx to expand.
“This means new services that we are able to provide to our customers, and that is great for our college,” he said.
Collège Lionel-Groulx does a considerable amount of Human Resources project work and TOWES products will assist the college. Alain also plans to use the new TOWES en français series.
Now that’s what we call perfect timing!
The Workplace Education Manitoba Steering Committee (WEMSC) is a business-labour-government partnership that promotes Essential Skills and literacy training in the workplace.
TOWES has worked closely with WEMSC over the years in a variety of different projects.
Sandi Howell, the WEMSC Coordinator and main contact, said many workers had only an Essential Skills (ES) level of 1 and 2 - considered a safety hazard.
“We wanted a test that would specifically target workers that have an ES level of 1 or 2,” she said. “We wanted to use a test that is legitimate, rigorously tested, and incorporates psychometric analyses into it. TOWES has all of these things.”
WMESC will use the TOWES “as a larger-scale solution to deliver Essential Skills gap training so this can either mean pre-employment programs or with existing workers,” she added.
We are pleased to welcome both Collège Lionel-Groulx and WEMSC to our distributor family. They are both doing great things to promote Essential Skills and we are thrilled to be a part of that.
